A Bit About Michael At Smart Electrical Integrations Ltd
Hey there, I'm Michael, your friendly neighbourhood electrician with 25 years of electrical experience, 18 years in the UK of shocking experience in the electrical industry! My journey started in Australia, where I learned the ropes working alongside my dad, who's a real sparky.
From fixing up Auntie Mabel's fuse box to tackling industrial machinery, we did it all, laying down the wires for my electrifying career ahead. Domestic? Check. Commercial? Double-check. I even dabbled in switchboard building, HV switchgear, rail, construction, and industrial automation – talk about a jolt of diversity!
In 2005, I decided to add some voltage to my life and made the leap across the pond to the UK. My first gig? A domestic project during the frosty winter – nothing like a bit of cold to get the circuits buzzing! Before I knew it, I was zapping my way up the ranks in facilities management, from engineer to supervisor, and eventually landing the gig as account director. Not bad for a country boy like me, eh?
But after 11 electrifying years in London, I felt the call of the wild – and what better place to answer it than bonny Scotland? With family ties and a heart full of Highland spirit, I made the switch to specialising in building energy management systems. I've been working with big energy businesses, brewing technical solutions to help folks save on their bills and cosy up their homes.
Then, just when I thought things couldn't get more electrifying, COVID came along and gave me a real shocker – a layoff. Every cloud has a silver lining, right? So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and start my own electrical business, following in my old man's footsteps. And let me tell you, it's been an absolute whirlwind adventure!
So, if you need a spark of genius for your electrical needs, don't be shy – give me a shout! Let's light up your life, one socket at a time.
Cheers,
Michael
Terms And Conditions
1. Acceptance of Terms
1.1 Instructions to carry out work, whether written or verbal, shall be taken as acceptance of these terms and conditions unless the work is the subject of another written contract, the terms of which supersede these.
2. Definition and Basis of Pricing
2.1 An estimate is an approximate price calculated with reasonable care from available information, which may be given as a range or percentage variation. It constitutes an offer to do the work, and we will endeavour to keep it within the price range. Unforeseeable work may lead to changes in the estimate.
2.2 A quotation is an offer to do the specified work at the quoted price. Acceptance of a quotation or estimate by the client constitutes a contract between the company and the client.
2.3 All estimates and quotations are based on the work schedule provided by the client. Clients are advised to review the schedule carefully.
3. Conditions
3.1 Prices are based on normal working hours, Monday to Friday, 8.00 am-4.30 pm, excluding bank / public holidays, unless otherwise stated. All other times may be considered out of hours. Travel time is included in the cost of work.
3.2 The company retains ownership of the goods until full payment is received. Payments are allocated first to labour costs and then to materials.
3.3 Prices do not include any charges the supply authority makes unless otherwise stated.
3.4 Care will be taken during work with floorboards and access panels screwed back, but it does not include plaster patching or redecoration.
3.5 Out-of-Hours Works: Advance Payment for Out-of-Hours Call Outs: Out-of-hours call-outs are subject to advance payment. Out-of-hours calls are exempt from the 14-day cooling-off rules. These works are classified as emergency, so immediate action is necessary to address the situation.
3.6 Clients are responsible for obtaining necessary permissions for specific works.
3.7 Certification is provided upon receipt of payment.
3.8 The client/tenant/client’s agent must make the job areas accessible. If we have to clear areas (to get into a consumer unit, for example), this will be charged as time on site.
4. Variations
4.1 Variations in labour and material costs after the estimate or quotation may be passed on to the client unless otherwise stated.
4.2 Clients must detail any variations or additional work required as early as possible. Instructions for work to proceed before acceptance shall be required in writing.
5. Payment
5.1 Payment shall be due upon receipt of the invoice unless otherwise stated in the estimate or quotation.
5.2 Monthly invoices may be submitted for extended work periods, with payment due upon receipt.

6. Time of Completion
6.1 The Company shall endeavour to complete the work within the specified dates or a reasonable period. Delays beyond the company's control shall not hold the company responsible for losses, damage, or increased costs.
7. Guarantee
